Dear Parents,
I can’t believe we are already in the month of February! We have a lot of fun and exciting events coming up! Please read ahead for more information about all of the important dates. I will be putting grades into the gradebook this week. Please check ParentVUE often and encourage your child to turn in any missing assignments.

Tuesday, February 2- Muffins for Mom 7:15 a.m.

Wednesday, February 3- A Long Walk to Water (The students were given a study guide last week and we went over the answers in class today. Study the study guide to be prepared for the test) and Relative Pronouns tests (Look over the examples we completed together to be ready for the assessment).

Thursday, February 4- Science Fair

Friday, February 5- Relay for Life Movie Night

Monday, February 8– Write Score Writing Assessment (Please get a good nights rest and eat a healthy breakfast to do your best on the test!)

Tuesday, February 9- Write Score Writing Assessment

Wednesday, February 10- Fire Safety Field Trip to the Cobb Safety Museum

Thursday, February 11- Planet projects are due

Friday, February 12- Domain Specific Words Test, Valentines , Wax Museum (parents are welcome!), and progress reports (whew!)

Monday, February 15 – Friday, February 19- Winter Break 

The students are welcome to bring in Valentines for their classmates on Friday, February 12. Each student will also need to bring in a box or bag to collect their Valentines. The box or bag may be decorated.  I will send home a list of first names in the Friday folders.

The students were given/chosen their wax museum people today. I will give the students the graphic organizer to organize their speech tomorrow. Please make sure your student is researching their influential person and filling out the graphic organizer this week. Start thinking of all the creative ways to dress up as well. I will have the students say their speech to me at the first part of next week. Please plan to attend this fun event!

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  It is an honor and pleasure to teach your child!
